About Bibi Nanaki Kaur

Bibi Nanaki Kaur is a tiger according to Chinese Astrology and concluded her fourth 11-year-intelligence cycle in 2006. Born as an Aquarius in a small village in northern Germany which translates into “Door to Heaven”, she feels called to be a teacher for the Aquarian Age. She got her first teachings in discipline and endurance already in her childhood and youth being a successful bicycle racer. These qualities have also proved to be very useful in her professional career as a free-lance conference interpreter for Spanish and English. Today, she lives, works and teaches in Berlin.

Her curiosity for people, different cultures and languages made her travel all over the world, Latin America being one of the places her soul felt home most. And so it was in Mexiko during a shamanic seminar in 1996 when Kundalini Yoga first came her way. Back in Berlin, she found a shamanic teacher who would also become her first Kundalini Yoga teacher. After having been on the search on her spiritual path since 1994 studying and experiencing techniques like Biodanza, Bioenergetics, Shamanism, Transformational Kinesiology and others, with Kundalini Yoga she felt at home right away. It brought her back in touch with her physical body, which she had denied to feel after a painful childhood. Through the contact with her body, Bibi Nanki Kaur was able to reach her soul, hear its call and follow it.

Hence, she did the teacher training, started to teach in 2000, finished level 2 with Karta Singh in 2002 and organizes & teaches level I in Berlin since 2003. Bibi Nanki Kaur studied Kundalini Yoga, Gatka and Gong playing with Nanak Dev Singh from Phoenix, one of the early students of Yogi Bhajan.

She received her spiritual name from Yogi Bhajan in 1997, Bibi Nanki Kaur meaning “child of the house of Nanak”. So it is certainly not by chance that Bibi Nanki discovered the Japji, the beautiful song of the soul given to humanity as a gift by Guru Nanak, as one of her most important gateways to infinity.

She was blessed to see Yogi Bhajan in various occasions both in Europe and in New Mexiko, where his presence during the 1st Japji Course in 2003 touched her deeply and filled her heart with profound love for him and the sacred teachings of Kundalini Yoga. It is her most heartfelt wish to share this touch and love and the deep gratefulness she feels for the teachings since they helped her to survive and recover from the Tsunami in 2005 with others. Sat Nam.
