Gurudakshina

Giving back to the Source

As the teachings are passed on from teacher to student, who then becomes a teacher, something very profound is happening. There's a basic universal principal at work: As we give, so we receive. Giving Gurudakshina is the key to opening a subtle and powerful flow of energy that allows the receiving and passing on of the teachings.

By giving we acknowledge that we have received something of value. It is an expression of gratitude and trust. Through honouring the source we tune into a greater flow of prosperity in every aspect of our lives.

Gurudakshina contributions are used to spread and promote the teachings of Yogi Bhajan. You are encouraged to send a contribution of 11 percent of your gross income from teaching - no matter if you teach just one class a week or ten.

Your contributions go to the Amrit Nam Sarovar International Foundation, a public trust that determines the exact use of the money.

Feel that you are part of the universe and that the universe is part of you. You are just as beautiful as the universe. Without you, the universe is not beautiful, and you are not beautiful without the universe.
