7-21 Aug with Karta & ANS
Every year, pilgrims of various traditions and religions leave for a Yatra to Mount Kailash, following a tradition going back thousands of years. Registration deadline 7 July! The icy peak of Kailash and the adjacent Lake Mansarovar symbolise the tantric pair of Shiva and Shakti. It is tradition to take a bath in Lake Mansarovar (the highest body of freshwater in the world) and circumambulate the Kailash peak. It rises 6638m up into the heavens located in a remote area of the Tibetan Himalayas. Never did any human being dare to climb the awe-inspiring peak of this most holy mountain. We will meet in Kathmandu from where we will be guided by an experienced team of professional tour operators. The two-week journey allows careful acclimatisation to the altitudes. During the days of the kora, we will have yaks or porters at our service.
