The Le Martinet Experience offers people a space to grow through experiencing themselves in a place of nature with less distractions than maybe at home. The main tool for this process is SEVA, learning through contributing to a collective effort, to serve selflessly and meditating on their self as it unfolds in action. To be in this programme means to be part of a regulated, constant daily structure where you explore many aspects of yoga in a broader sense.
Some people come just to serve. Others because they are in a difficult spot in their lives and want to gain some perspective. Often it is a mix of motivations. Whatever the reason, we hope to offer at Le Martinet a place where people can enter a spiritual lifestyle that is sometimes difficult to maintain on ones own, but much easier when one is supported through the community effort.
You will support the community for 3h/day with whatever needs doing. The rest of the day you are free to explore, go for a walk, a swim in the river, read, meditate or simply relax in nature. There will be an orientation session with us upon arrival and a 'share' when you leave to help you get the best out of your self-inquiry experience. We might also offer an evening meditation depending on our availability. The minimum stay is a week, maximum two.
Cost : 140e Euros per week. This includes lunch and accommodation (camping) plus the orientation meeting and Sharing Circle. (Breakfast and evening meals are optional)
Date : 19-25 August 2019 Limited spaces available
Daily programme :
9.30 Tune in collectively, seva. 3hr
13.00 Lunch (when a course running lunch follows the course timetable)
after lunch its personal self-enquiry time
If consider coming, please fill out our application form. In it you can give us the time that you are available and the necessary personal details.
We will then schedule a skype or phone interview with you to get a better idea of your situation and intentions and so on. We assess your situation together. And see if it is a good fit, both for you and the community that will be hosting your stay. After this first interview, your application is decided upon by the community. If it is approved, we let you know and ask that you pay for your intended stay before you come or upon arrival.
If you are staying longer than a week, we will have an evaluation interview after about a week of being in the programme to make sure that mutual expectations are met. Just before you leave there will be a third interview to see if and how you can integrate your experience, how you can come back to regular life and possibly get a personal practice to do when you get back home.
Goals of the self-enquiry programme
There are three main things that we try to achieve with the Le Martinet Expereince :
It was a very special experience for me last summer, to be with you. In particular the feeling of "soul-friendly work", as I would like to call it, has changed a lot in my life.
I can not go back to the old tredmill. It is not that everything has become easier now, but I have felt such a profound new way of working, that my heart just strives for it constantly. Had already thought to do Seva again in Le Martinet next summer.
